Summer Internship Program (SIP) - For Students

Intern application due date is

Eligibility

To apply for an internship, you must:

  • Have attended high school for the school year, and have participated in The Winnipeg Foundation's Youth in Philanthropy program for at least one year.
  • Be at least 16 years old as of July 1 in the year you are applying.
  • Be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant.
  • Demonstrate an interest in a career in the voluntary sector.
  • Be available to work full-time from the beginning of July to the end of August.

** Please note: If you have already been an intern in the Summer Internship Program, you are not eligible to apply again.

What is the Summer Internship Program?

The Winnipeg Foundation's Summer Internship Program (SIP) matches Youth in Philanthropy participants with hands-on, full-time paid summer jobs in the non-profit sector.

Why apply?

  • You'll work one-on-one with a mentor to gain insight into the organization and the non-profit sector.

About the jobs

  • Job descriptions will vary with the host organization. The Winnipeg Foundation's staff will match successful applicants with qualifying organizations, based on students' interests and skills, and the needs of the particular positions.
  • All jobs will provide students with a hands-on opportunity to gain skills and experience in the non-profit sector.
  • Host organizations are responsible for providing training, guidance and mentorship to students.
  • Successful student applicants will be notified of their position in mid-June.
  • The jobs begin in early July and end in late August. A typical work week will be 35 hours, Monday to Friday.
