Your YIP, Your Winnipeg

The 2011-2012 YiP Interschool Committee

The Youth in Philanthropy Interschool Committee is a group of students (up to two from each high school that participates in the program) who stay in contact, via meetings, e-mail, and Facebook with the YiP convener at The Winnipeg Foundation throughout the year. The role of the Interschool Committee is a very important one.

These students are to act as advisors, offering their expertise and feedback on the program, as well as to assist in planning special YiP events and acting as ambassadors and spokespeople for the program. A maximum of two Reps from each school may attend meetings. Meetings are mandatory, and each school must be represented at every meeting by one, maximum two Interschool Reps.

It is up to each school committee to choose one or two reps for the Interschool committee.  Please note that if a school has two reps, one of them must be in grade 11 or lower. This is a year-long position, and the Rep(s) must commit to attending meetings and staying in contact with The Winnipeg Foundation between September and May. All meeting dates are set out at the beginning of the year – please see below.

We encourage students to vote on their Rep, keeping in mind the following qualities that are important for an effective Interschool Committee Rep. We also ask that before agreeing to become a Rep, candidates carefully review the list of responsibilities below.
