What does YiP mean for our sector?

Youth in Philanthropy is a valuable way for young people to learn about their community and how they can have an impact as philanthropists. In the 2010-2011 YiP year, 380 students, representing 23 high schools and one community organization, participated in Youth in Philanthropy. They were guided through the program by their 42 staff advisors. In all, 173 grants were awarded by YiP committees, totaling $123,742.

The support from Winnipeg’s non-profit community has been wonderful (meaning you!), with local organizations graciously opening their doors to students, answering their questions and often helping to open their eyes to the needs of our community. We would like to extend our thanks to you for the role you have played in the success of the program.
